LOCO. MEN'S WAGES
At a meeting of the Paekakariki branch of the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association, at which every member was present, the following motion was carried : "That this branch renews its support and confidence in its executive council in any action it takes towards removing the long overdue grievances of locomotive men, as the increased wages and conditions were asked for as far back as 1912, and still not granted. We consider the Is a day war bonus offered does not cover the request for improved wages and conditions." Motions in support of the demands have been carried by the Pukemiro Coal Miners' Union, the Ohinemuri Mines and Batteries Union, and the Tarata Coal Miners' Union.
