MILLINERY A Forecast of a Few Outstanding Features depicted in the Modes for the Coming Season Millinery of many periods is drawn' upon for style inspiration and the designer of .to-day (keeping in mind the fitness of things) has had a wonderful opportunity for originality. Included is a revival of the "Watteau" and "First Empire" styles. There is a Decidedly Feminine Note in These Styles J While the Tailored Hat is still to the fore, fashion favours the softer lines of the Portrait Hat.. j A prominent feature is the wide-brimmed hat with' large handmade flowers in a beautiful combination of colour blendings. Hand work plays an important role in millinery for all occasions. • Fabrics such as Tulle, Crepe, Lace, Satin, and Velour Cloth are used in conjunction with Straw for the foundation, or as trim..mings. Fashion favours Pedal as the leading Straw Hat, while Leghorn, Tuscan, and Liserie follow very closely. Colourings as shown are more artistic than ever. Hat-shapes vary from the high-crowned Cloche to the mediumbrmmed hat with low Tarn crown, and from the new irregular- r brimmed hat to the wide-brimmed soft outlined Portrait Hat. An Outline of a few of the Many Models now showing in the Millinery Section A JAY MODEL IN CASEROLE PEDAL—Has trimmings in colours of brown, peacock, and saxe faille ribbon. A LARGE NATURAL LEGHORN—With extended brim extension of dull blue satin and suede; adjusted on the brim is a large hand-made flower in shell pink and black, A GAGE MODEL—Comes in black Liserie and has the new irregular brim; this is underlined with white crepe. Loop and bow trimming of Cire ribbon. ' j AN IMPORTED MODEL—Is a good example of the wide at the I sides and narrow back and front style. Theihat is built of white j crepe and underlined with navy taffeta. A clever crown drape of white satin as entire trimming. A YOUNG MATRON'S HAT—Depicts thelatest floral crown and soft shirred brim. The whole is carried out in georgette, with roses and pansies in colour blendings of magenta and fuschia. We will appreciate your Inspection
