KELBURN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
A social gathering was held last evening in the Kelburn Presbyterian ChuTchroom for the purpose of welcoming the new minister of the congregation (Rev. William Day). The Rev. W. J. Comrie presided over a large attendance. Addresses of welcome were delivered by Mr. R. Tait, jun., on behalf of the congregation; by the Rev. A.-..E. Hunt, on behalf of sister churches; by the Rev. S. Robertson Orr, on behalf of the Presbytery f and by the Hon. J: G. W. Aitken, as Moderator of the General Assembly. Mr. Day suitably ' replied, expressing his pleasure at the unanimous invitation to him and the heartiness of the welcome. Occasion was taken by the chairman to express the appreciation of the .congregation of the work done by the Rev. J. H. Mackenzie in filling the pulpit during the Ipng vacancy, and to present to him an arm-chair as a mark of the esteem and affection in which he was held. Mr. C. S. Moore, on behalf of the !. congregation, presented to tho Rev. W. J. Comrie a handsome gold watch, in appreciation of his services as moderator during the vacancy. During the evening musical items were given by Miss Mackenzie, . Messrs. Clarke-Johnson, and Black, and by tho choir, under Mrs. Rose, as well as a recitation by Miss Wiren- Refreshments were provided by the ladies.
