The continued popularity of the concerts for seamen was shown last night, when Miss Van Staveren gave a concert at the Sailors' Friend Society before a. delighted.audience; -Mr. Moore, missiouer, took the opportunity of thanking Miss Van Sfcavei-en and the . Wellington residents for the bright evenings arranged for the men. The performers were: The Misses A. Duncan, L. Anderson, M*. Johnson, Vaii Stavereh (2), and Messrs. Cliarlfes.Mdore and Jayloiv Miss K. M'lntosh was at the piano. Short stones were thrown into the competition.
