A girl, seTenteen years of age, was i charged before Mr ; S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., at the "Magistrate's Court this morning with the theft of a gold ring, valued at 30s, from Emily Dorothy Albrecht. Accused pleaded guilty. Inspector Marsack said that there were 'no exceptional circumstances in regardl to the actual theft, which was. committed at the Petone skating rink. Ho considered that in the girl's best interests she should be sent to an institution or home. The Magistrate convicted and" ordered' the girl lo come up for sentence when cnlled upon, ancl remarked that nothing more would be heard, of the matter if she remained in the Salvation 'Army Home i'or twelve months. ' "Tlie Barnstormers," under the direction of Mr. J. W. Buchanan, stormed the- Trinity Methodist Schoolroom, Newtown, with the result that the funds of the Trinity Young Men's Club benefited to the 'extent of £8. They presented their programme to a crowded house, every item being well received. Mr. Burge presided at tho piano, and some of the chief performers wpre MeMft!
