Sir Douglas Haig reports: The New Zealanders made a successful raid in the neighbourhood of Hebuterne, and took thirty prisoners and twelve machineguns. We slightly improved our line on the Villors-Bretonneux sector, after ghiivr" G"liting. The hostile artillery is acti l.'i-eastward Of Albert, and soiiiL-. ■• active at different points on the northern British front. (Received July 18, 10 a.m.) LOiwON, 16th July, 10.5b p.m. Sir Douglas Haig reports: The enemy attacked and entered two of our new posts in the neighbourhood of Hebnterne. Our counter-attack immediately drove him out, and we secured prisoners. There is hostile artillery action at Locre. Storms have handicapped the ilir work. We dropped a few bomb's, but a violent thunderstorm prevented night bombing after midnight. Previously to that hour w.o dropped over four tons of bombs on the Seclin railway station and' hostile 'billots.
