TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Your correspondent "Loyal" may be quite right about Viscount Grey, but I have still to learn that the famous regiments which are now popularly known as the "Old Contemptibles" were composed exclusively of English Tommies. I shall be glad to know of auy special reason for their being particularly, mentioned, to the obvious detriment of the Scottish, Irish, and Welsh troops whom they had the privilege to assist.— I am, etc., TURLUNDIE. 15th July. . .
