An indication of the valuable work which is being done by the Anzac Buffet in London is contained in the third annual report. of tho London branch of the Australian Natives' Association. During the year under review (says a. Melbourne paper) the committee was relieved of the financial problems "which had furrowed the brows of previous committees." This satisfactory change was chiefly due to Miss _Ada Reeve's appeal to Australians on behalf of tho bu'Jfofc, am? to her tho coromittoe records "a lasting debt of gratitude." Miss Ada Reeve at that time had remitted £14,000 to the committee. Somo oE the members of the committee, following; upon this windfall, were inclined to be lavish in their expenditure, but the committee generally took tho view that, it is the trustee of public funds, which must as far as possible be conserved. The report refers to the need for larger premises, and regrets that ' none is available. Our special showing of Spring and Summer JVliHinery has caused much comment by l:\dies who appreciate really artistic hendivear. The English Hampton Straw Ka.ts, in jade, niggsi-, green, terra, and .navy are most suitable for present v.'car for cither afternoon ov movni.ng. Smartly-trimmed with ribbon and quill; some with dainty flowers. Miss Abrahams, 236, Lambton-quay, Wellington.— idvt.
