SOLDIERS SENTENCED.
On a charge of disobeying a lawful command in such a manner as to show a wilful defiance of authority, the following soldier has been found guilty by Trenthsim District Court-martial and sentenced to two years'. had labour : — 46781, Pte. J. Pickering, A.S.C. For deserting when under orders, foractive service, the following sentences have been imposed :—Pte. G. A. Sigglekow, Details (late 39th Rfts), 80 days' detention; Pte. H. J. Hoad, Details (late 39th Rfts), 80 days' detention; Pte. J. Hamilton, Details (late 38th Rfts.), 90 days' detention; Pte H T. Woolhouse, Details (late 38th Rfts.), 90 days' detention. Two other soldiers, for. desertion and being absent without, leave, have been sentenced' to shorter terms of detention,
