THE RAILWAYS AND THE RACES.

About 2000 persons went by train from the Lanibton Station to the races at Trentham to-day, and some 200 more from Petone and the Lower Hutt. There was the usual rush for the train leaving at 9.45, and nearly a thousand persons were disappointed, and had to wait till the 12.15 train, or get to the course by some other means of conveyance About 100 people were shut out,from the midday train.
