In the New South Wales Legislative Assembly last week, in reply to a question regarding the insurance on Mr. Holman's life prior to his recent visit to England, it was stated that the premium was paid by the State. Two, policies were taken out, one with the Insurance Office of Australia for £2000, and the other with the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company for £3000. Both policies covered death by accident only. This was undertaken with the censent of the Ministry.
"What is tlie cause of tha trouble between your father and mother?" asked counsel of a small child hi a separation case at the Magistrate's Court at Christchurcli. "Drink," was the prompt reploy. "Oh, he comes home drunk, does he? Well, how drunk?" pursued counsel. The. child thought for a few seconds, and then replied : "Well, he comes home lull," a reply which appeared to satisfy all parties.
