MR. POLSON AT KELBURN

A meeting of ladies favourable to the candidature of Mr. A. N. Poison was held at the Kelburn Kiosk on Saturday afternoon. Air. Poison briefly outlined the main planks of his platform, devoting special attention to education, more particularly 'to those branches which affected women. He criticised Mr. Brandon's action in connection with the question of the admission of free place pupils when he was chairman of the Board of Governors of the Girls' High School. He approved of pensions being granted to nurses doing war work. He said ho would, if elected/support Dr. Thacker in trying to get furlough for the Main Body men. Mr. Poison advocated the employment of State colliers as a means of reducing the price of coal. The speaker maintained that_ returned. soldiers were not getting a fair deal. Special provision should! be made for the care of shellshock patients on their rwnrri. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to ,Mr. Poison.
