MORE RAIN EXPECTED
■Two disturbances, one westerly and the other northerly, had ' a" decidedly neutralising, effect on the weather yeSter-.' day. Either disturbance singly would have caused a decided storm, but-coming as" they did together, the force and intensity of each /was.neutralised... These conditions, however, still -operate,; and though winds are generally moderate, a south-west gale, being, reported only at Port Chalmers, rain is .falling in many ■parts of the Dominion, and .cloudy akie? are general. Thirty points" of rain have been added /to thie local record" "since Saturday morning, 18 points yesterday morning;, and 12 this morning, and there is still'apossibility of- a further fall before a 'barometrical rise,■ which is-due shortly, takes place. The winds, are likely tfTcliange west to south, and iho.weather! will probably be. cloudy to overcast and sqnally, •with, heavy; showers,- generally over the -Dominion. .. •■■■ ,•■ ■• .-.• •-.-;.
