ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT.
.A most successful Association football season was brought to a cloee last evening, when a largely-attended smoke concert was held in tho New Century Hall S^S"* A- E- Well/wasin the greater game in .Epan^ fi^ y J . In responding, Mr. Salmond stressed tho Mr. M'Ewan proposed the toast of the years competition winners, whom he complimented on their success. t "f :i"dr, ed Sports" was proposed by Mr. J. J. Roberts. Mr. C. G. Wilcox (chair-' man of the Wellington Crfeket Association) who responded to th» toast, said that there was ample room in Wellington for every clran and healthy sport He urged those present to play a clean game throughout their whole lives. In regard to the patriotic effort, to be made at the end of this month, he asked all supporters of the Association game to do their utmost on that occasion. Mr. Buck proposed the toasf of "Absent Members," which was honoured in silence. Cups won.during the year were presented by Mr. M'Ewan, as follow :— Third Division Cup, Karori; Henderson Cup, Marist Old Boys; Fourth lJivision Cup, Marist Old Boys: Fourth ?-Tu lOn. (°harity Cup), Thomdon; 5-2r Division, South Wellington; tilth A Division (Charity Cup), Institute; Fifth B Division, Wadestown; bixth A Division, Institute; Sixth B Bivision, Institute; §ixth B Division (Chanty Cup), Institute; Schools competition, Porirua. During the evening musical items were given by the following :—Messrs Holl In.?f vo, rth > Nesbit, .O'Brien,' and M Carthy, and Masters Winstone M'Carthy and Quill.
