PARIS, 2nd August. Admiral Lacaze, Minister for the Navy, has resigned. (Received August 4, 8.20 a.m.) • , PARIS, 3rd August. Admiral Lacaze's resignation is due to the Naval Committee of the Chamber seeking power to enquire into all matters pertaining to the navy. The Chamber -will debate the proposal, on Friday. , M.Denys-Cochin has resigned his position as Under-Secretary for Block-ij-ade. •'..■•'.• The Chamber of Deputies passed a vote of confidence in the Government by 395 votes' to 70. * ' ■ [In the Chamber of Deputies, when an interpellation upon the navy-was suggested, M. Ribot (Prime Minister) immediately rose and said : "We huve experienced during the past week the most critical period of the war." He promised, despite preoccupations, to carefully consider the naval-situation. If decisions were necessary, ho would take them, but not under pressure from, the Chamber.] '
