ENEMY OFFENSIVE IN BUKOWINA

LONDON, 2nd August. A Russian official report states : Between the Zbruch and the Dniester our troops abandoned their positions north-east of Hotin. Between the Dniester and the Pruth the enemy took the offensive along our bank of the Dniester, and occupied a number of positions, as we retired eastwards. We fell back west of the Putna River. We drove the enemy back near the Moldavica region, but fell back slightly in the region of Mounts Pucha and Lamentulu. s LONDON, 2nd August.
