SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

Miss J. Peti-ie and-party gave a very enjoyable entertainment at the Sailors' Friend Society last night. The party included Mrs. Kennedy, the Misses Chapman, M. Jones, Lilian PeCrie, N. Jennings, Janie Petrie, and Mr. M'Gregor. A hearty vote of thanks was passed and responded to by the hostess. The competitions were again a feature of the evening, and gave much pleasure to all present. A new billiard board, kindly "donated by Messrs. G. H. Scales, Ltd.,' was used for the first time. The men greatly appreciate anything done towards providing for their* entertainment and comfort, 'and wish to -thank the firm named and others who have done so much for them.
