FIGHT AT GAVRELLE
GERMAN REPORT
BRITISH ATTACKS REPULSED

LONDON, 26th April. Admiralty, per Wireless Press.—A German official report states : Attacking waves three times stormed our positions southward of the Scarpe,,- and three times were compelled to withdraw. Our position at Gavrelle is now situated on the eastern boundary of the village. Our advances have improved the position at the Chemin dcs Dames.' The enemy attacked on a front of 3300 yards' front in the evening, and were sanguinarily repulsed.
