In the Supremo Court, before Mr. Justice Hosking, a boy aged 15, who had ■adopted an alias, was brought ttp for eentejioe, on a charge of forging and uttering nfe Rotorua.. Prisoiwi stole a. blank, cheque from his employer, vfilled it in, and gave it to aaother boy to cash. The attempt: was.' unsuccessful, and the boy was arrested. The Judge said this was the youngest prisoner with an alias w}io had yet come before him. Ho would gita him on* more chance on the understanding that he _ returned - home, he having run away. Prisoner would be convicted, and ordared to icomo up for sentence whon called upon. He was placed under th© supervision of the probation officer for eighteen moaths.
