LODGE MEETINGS

There was a good attendance at the weokly session of the Pioneer Lodge, No. 11, 1.0. G.T., held at Rechabito Hall, MaJiners-street, tho oocu&ion being «. ''patriotic night," Bro. and Sis. Pctherick, son., being responsible. A good display of Allied bunting was a. conspicuous feature of the decorations. C.T. Bro,-H. J. Millan presided at tho initial ceremony. One candidate was readmitted on 1 'clearance card tuid iiw other candidates were proposed. The Dist. Lodge Officers wero then accorded an official welcome, after which Bro. Haxren, Dist. C.T., took charge of the proceedings, the offices being filled by the Dist. Lodge officers. Reports were received from absent members. Tho election of a Supt. and a. committee) to assist in connection with tho Juvenile Temple was then proceeded with. Sis. Mrs. Harding, 'sen., 6ooured the Euperintendoncy, and a voluntary .committee of six was accepted. It is intended to cater for the needs of the child Ten in and around tho city as soon as the commission is granted from Grand Lodge Executive. Up to the present there has beon no juvenile lodgo under direct supervision by the Pioneer subordinate lodge, and it is hoped the inauguration of juvenile work will considerably augment the successful working of the senior lodge, and prove a. reerurtiiig ground for future membership." Bro. D. C. Cajneroin, a G.L. officer, of Dunedin, arid Bro._ Prym, a naval officer, gavo very interestingl addresses on the work and successes of Good Templary. A bright musical a-nd patriotic prpgramme was then submitted, to ■which the following ably contributed: — Soutjs, Mr. Geo. Cocrdale (2), Sis. M.' Pctherick (?) and Sis. Warren ; recitations, Miss E.~ Chapman (2) and Sis. E. Pefcherick (2); violin selections, Sis. Warren. Bro. Millan, C.T., moved a hearty vote of thanks to Bro. and Sis. Pethcrick, sen.,for tho splendid evening th_oy had provided. Bro. Pethericfc responded. The meeting then closed. At next week's meeting there will be an election of officers. ■
