SECOND-HAND MOTORCYCLES
THE LOCAL MARKET
Judging by the number of motorcycles offered for sale in the advertising columns of The Post recently the local secondhand market appears to bo in a very flourishing state, and those who have the ready cafch can pick up a machine in really good order at a very low figure. Soldiers in camp find a motor-cycle of little use to them, and are usually glad to dispose of their machines to the first enquirer. For instance, in last week's Post there was an advertisement of a "4£ h.p. motorcycle and sidecar, 3 speed gear, spare belt, tires, lamps, tools, etc., all new, engine just overhauled" which the sol-dier-owner was offering for £34—a very modest sum. ■ The price of the complete outfit new would probably be £85 or more. A friend of the writer who is on the lookout for a good machine to take a sidecar, has been offered an almost brand new Eudge-Multi, a splendid English machine, for £55, whilst & soldier in camp offered a Rudge in very good order for £35. Another advertisement in The Post lately' offered an Indian 5 h.p., which, as far as outward appearances go, had been very carefully looked after by the owner, who was willing to part with it for the exceptionally small sum of £50! A 2}. h.p. MotoReve, which was bought a few montlhs ago for £8, went last Sunday afternoon from Wellington, to Paremata, over the ranges to Trentham, and back homo without a falter or & misfire. In Monday's paper another advertiser offered a 4-cylinder F.N., in good running order, for £18. *
