ELTHAM, This Day. The Mayoralty election resulted : —T. B. Crump, 308; B. Dive (ex-Mayor), 263.

GREYMOUTH, This Day. j The patriotic candidates were returned at the Borough Council elections yester- I day, the ticket being elected in toto. : W. H. Parfitt headed tho poll with 1324 ■ votes, the ■ lowest of ■ the nine selected I candidates polling 1115. The Laboui | Party, who made tho issue conscription, i ran six candidates. J. Goodall,- who sought re-eJection as a Labour candidate, . polled 766. The lowest Labour candidate polled 460. The, election proved Greymonth to bo loyal, and in support of tho enforcement of the "Military Service Act. There was a very heavy poll. Laboui- also failed to gain a seat on the Charitable Aid Board. The referendum on the half-holiday question resulted in more than, half the voters deciding that there was to be no change from Wednesday. ■ At Bunanga the only iasue was that of the half-holiday. It was decided to change from Thursday to Saturday. The , voting was: Saturday, 148; Thursday, ' 22. ' GORE, This Day. For the Gore Mayoralty, Mr. j M'Dougall was re-elected, polling 600 votes, against 302 for Mr. Burrows. j Mataura Mayoralty : Lowden, 251; Brown, 206. DUNEDIN, This Day.
