DENTISTS' TREATMENT OF
SOLDIERS
A CONFERENCE RESOLUTION.
The New Zealand Dental Conference was continued at the Masonic Hall, Boulcott-etreet, yesterday, Capt. Maurice E. Denniston presiding over a large attendance of delegate^ from all parts of •' New Zealand, The most interesting mattei of general importance was a discussion upon the dental treatment of recr-nits. Jk. number. < of speakers emphasised th# fact that the* urgent necessity of the moment is to send from New Zealand ag many St men as possible, and that many who are unfit 1 for military service can be made fit by dental treatment. Though the work voluntarily undertaken by civilian- dentists with the object oE assisting reoxniiting, has grown enormously, owipg to the balloted men and returned soldiers presenting themselves Tor treatment, in.addition to voluntary recruits, the conference resolved to "cairry on," the following ■•' motion being adopted:—'"That after fully considerinf; the question of civil and. military dental services, this conference decides to recommend members to carry on ■ for recruits, balloted jnen, .and returned soldiers, as at present." Lieut.-Colonel Rishwprth, Acting-Direc-tor of Dental Services, then conferred with the delegates, who made a number of suggestions for the smooth and efficient working of the scheme.
