A GENEROUS OFFER

JVfv. Edgar Jones, late of North Can,terbury, and now resident in Timaru, has made (says the Christchurch Star) an extremely generous offer to the Canterbury section of the Overseas Club in connection with the club's "Canterbury Aeroplane Fund." Mr. Jones has already made a donation of £50 to the fund, and he has promised that if the Overseas Club can raise the balance (£800) which it needs to purchase the first gift aeroplane from Canterbury, which is to cost £1500, before" 20th May next, he will donate £750, half the cost of a second gift aeroplane. A. personal appeal to upwards of 1000 of the primary producers from Kaikoura, to Ashburton is being made by the club, with a view to fulfilling the conditions of Mr. Jones's offer.
