MUNICIPAL ELECTION

POLLING TO-DAY

Voting is taking place to-day in the city and suburbs for the election of local governing bodies. In Wellington electors are voting for 15 city councillors, four members of the Harbour Board, and, with Karori and Miramar boroughs, for 14 members of tho Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. ■ In Onslow, Petone, and Lower Hutfi boroughs there are elections for mayors and councillors. Hutt and Petone are also voting to select the weekly halfholiday. In Hutt and Makara counties and all the contained boroughs and town boards two members of tho Harbour. Board, are being chosen. In Eastbourne, Karori, and'Miramar boroughs the' mayors and councillors have been elected unopposed. Not a great amount of interest is~being manifested in the elections in the city. There is no mayoral contest, and the day' is so ivet as to keep many voters away from the booths. Thebooths .at the Town Hall were probably the busiest this morning, and there advocates of the various "tickets" were in strongest force. Elsewhere there were few interested spectators and very few voters. The poll will probably be a small one. Results of the city elections are not expected to he available before' about 10 o'clock to-night.
