KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL
, Tlie ordinary meeting of the Karori Borough Council was held last evening, when there Were present:—The Mayor (Mr. B. G. H. Bum), and Councillors A. Hamilton, W. Skegg, R. tfaire, and W. C. Cooper. On the recommendation of the Works Committee, the Borough. Engineer was Instructed to carry out concrete 1 work for two residents, provided that they pay fhe full cost. A letter was received from the Minister for Munitions, in which he stated that owing to the difficulties,under which the British electrical industry was labouring in carrying out its export trade he, in accordance with the principles laid down by the Ministry for Munitions in the United Kingdom, would continuo (o render assistance to those requiring supplies for purely maintenance purposes, but he could not continue to recommend the Ministry to facilitate tho manufacture and shipment of £>uch electrical machinery and equipment as,might ,Tje ordered for new projects or for the extension of existing works.
