HUTT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S SHOW
The ninth animal autumn show in connection with the Hutfc Horticultural Society was opened this afternoon, in the presence of a very satisfactory attendance of visitors. The show is said to be equal to, if not better than, any Bhow yet held by the society. Tho chrysanthemums make a fine display, but the dahlias are not up to the usual standard. Mr. W. Barber judged the chrysanthemums and dahlias; Mr. W. B. Hardy acted as general judge; and Mr. G. J. Chapman judged the decoration classes. Mr. Westbury has a fine display of vegetables; Mr. Poole, palms and begonias; and Mr. Waugh an excellent showing of New Zealand-grown fruit. Mr. Hardy's _,display of cut blooms, for effect, isa feature, while Mr. W. Fuller has a particularly good floral arrangement. The decorated tables are splendid, especially those by children under 16; the bouquets show ability as regards colour blending. Mrs. and Miss Hayward are in charge of the refreshments.
The show will bo continued this ovening.,.
