EDUCATION BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING!
The monthly meeting of the Wellington Education Board was held to-day. The Hon. J. G. W. Aiken was in the chair, and others members present were, Messrs. A. W. Hogg, A. Mackay, R. A. Wright, W. Allan, T. Forsyth, E. P. Rishworth, G. T. London, J. Kebbell. The report of the Works and* Finance Committee, recommending a riumber of works, was adopted, as rtlso wete inspector's reports and reports of physical instructors and attendance officers.
Draft regulations regarding free industrial education Were received, and it was decided to forward them to the Technical Education Board, with a request that the officers of that body should confer oil the subject with the members of the board.
An application for the cstablisliment of a school at Wairail Bar was referred to the Chief Inspector for a iepoft as to the necessity of it. Applications from teachers for leave of absence, correspondence regarding the staffing of several schools; the confirmation of appointments, applications for transfer, Vacancies, and other matters were dealt with by the board in committee.
