The Town Hall flag was flown at half mast yesterday and to-day as a mark ol respect to the memory of Mr. Alfred Gardner. City Tramway Permanent Way Superintendent, who di,ed suddenly on Wednesday. The funeral took place this afternoon "and was largely attended. Amongst those present were the Mayor ("Mr J P. Luke), the General Manager of the Tramways (Mr. W. H. Morton), the Traffic Superintendent (Mr. M. Cable), the Superintendent of Overhea.-' Equipment (Mr. J. C. RusseU), the Powi Stations Superintendent, and as man other Corporation officers as could 1 spared from their duties. Various members of the- City Council also attended. The service at Karon was conducted by the Rev. E. H. Hobday, "Vicar of St. Matthew's, Brooklyn.
