HUTT LICENSING COMMITTEE

' The quarterly sitting of the Hutt licensing Committee was held to-day at the Lower Hutt Court, presided over by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. There were also present: Messrs. J. W. M'Ewan, M. Welch, J. Cotton, ajid J. Cudby.

The Chairman stated that the police re-, port on the hotels in the district was very satisfactory, with, the exception of the Bellevue Hotel which, it was stated, had not been conducted in the manner' it should have been. A transfer was granted of the Central Hotel, Petone, from G. Gibbs to F. G. Warring. Inspector Hendrey stated that he had intended to opposo the continuation of the Bellevue license in tho name of N. S. Campbell, as three convictions had been recorded against this licensee. He was, however, now informed that a transfer was being arranged, and that being the_ case he would not oppose the continuation.
