DUNEDIN, sth September.

An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Mrs. Matilda Bardsley, of North-East Valley, aged 70 years, who died in the' hospital this morning. Evidence showed, that deceased's husband, proceeding' to the backyard at. 5.30 p.m. on Saturday, found her sitting on a box with a cut in her throat. She' suffered from throat trouble, and had 'to sit up at night from lack pf breath. MedScal evidence showed that deceased had been mentally depressed by the death of a son killed in action. A verdict was returned of death, duo to injuries selfinflicted, while in a depressed state of mind.
