THE WELLINGTON UNION.

Several maters concerning the control of Rugby football were discussed at a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Union.last night. An application for the transfer of G. Osborne from the Upper Hutt to the Lower Hutt Club was declined, and permission was refused to A. A. Baker (Poneke) to play for Athletic next Saturday.'

For striking an Athletic Club player during a recent match, a Petono fifth grade player was suspended until the end of the season, and a Poneke player, in connection with last Saturday's disturbance at Diippa-strijet, was suspended until he appears before the committee.

Mr. J. P. Firth, headmaster of Wellington College, wrote expressing his appreciation of the arrangements made for tho conduct of the recent inter-college tourney.
