THE POLICY EXPLAINED.

LONDON, 28th June,

Tn the House of Lords, replying to criticisms that the Government's policy would disorganise the wool trade, Lord Sandhurst said that the Government had acquired the 1916 wool clip at prices based on the values ruling immediately before the war, with the addition of 30 per cent., in view of the farmers' increased expenses. Seventy-five per cent, of the estimated value would be paid on delivery, and the balance after the final inspection.
