GOVERNMENT STATISTICIAN'S
ESTIMATES.
SYDNEY, 20th June.
The Government Statistician's estimate of the population of New Soxith Wales at 31st December is 1,866,203, an increase for the. year of 6616.. The excess of births over deaths was, 33,276, while the. birth-rate is 2.6 belovvy the average of £he previous five yeara. , Illegitimate births averaged 51 per 1000. The deathrate is 50 per 1000, slightly over the average for the last ten'years.
