Lieutenant G. S. La-vie, of Sumnor (killed in action on 11th June), belonged, to the 7th .Reinforcements. He was captain of the fiumner branch of the Royal Life-Saving Society and a member of the Sunnier Bowing Club. For twelve months before'ho left New Zealand, he was on the staff of the Lyttelton Times Company. He leaves a widow and two children. 0
Sergeant Montagu Atkinson, who was killed in action a few days ago, was the eldest son of the late Mr. F. Atkinson., of Nelson. The deceased, who left New Zealand with the 9th Reinforcements, was an old boy of Nelson College, and was chief clerk in the Lands and Deeds Office at Bluff when he enlisted. He had passed his examination, as a barrister and solicitor! and mo a vary promising- young man,
