MOTHER GOOSE PANTOMIME.
The mu2h-a.ppreciated J. C. "WilliamEon pantomime this year, a new "Mother Goose," will have its initial production at the Grand Opera House this evening at 7.45, and for a session of nine nights. In it is promised a new and up-to-date version of the time-honoured fairy story. Special engagements have been made of artists of high repute, and the management is confident of continuing to break all past records, ■with "Mother Goose." The chorus, which is a distinct feature of the entertainment, has been selected from the champion beauties of Australia, being the successful competitors of the Tecen-t beauty competition held in Melbourne. Mr. Victor Champion is responsible for the music, which is said to be exceptionally fine; Miss Minnie Everett for the dancing and ballets; while Mr. Charles Wenman generally supervises the entire production. There are sixteen scenes in "Mother Goose," over 200 people engaged in acting the play, 750 costumes worn, 90 musical numbers played by the orchestra, and 100 mechanics and auxiliaries. The first matinee will t be on Saturday next,, and the last on Wednesday next.
