SOME AWARDS

Field Roots.—This section was extremely well patronised by farmers in the Manawatu, Hawkes Bay, and Main Trunk districts. Some extraordinarily large roots were to be seen. There are fine displays of kale and cabbage, and giant carrots, maagel wurzels, sugar mangels, swedes, turnips, and pumpkins. A. Passey, of Pohangina, took the majority of the prizes, his list including 10 firsts and 8 seconds—a meritorious performance. Walter Webb (Hastings) was next with three firsts and one second.
