DURWARD AND DAVIDSON, Palmerston North.
This firm's stand at the National Dairy Show is next to the Agricultural Department's exhibit, and is tastefully arranged' with some'of the Various lines handled by them.1 Portion of the space is devoted to the products of the SolVet Manufacturing Company, Timaru, for whom Durward and Davidson are district agents. Here is to be seen Solvet Premier Dip, Solvet Fluid Dip, Solvet Horse and Cattle Tonic Food, etc. These goods have been tried put, and have proved particularly efficacious. The dips are second to none, and the tonic food has proved a wonderful success for horses and cattle. Some of the best known breeders and trainers of the South-Island use these foods extensively, and highly repommend; it. The firm also make a display of the building material known as Kouka. The fence around their stand is of this material. Kouka is now greatly in demand for building purposes, and is bouad to be in still greater demand in the near future. It is cheaper to use than wood, is more attractive in appearance, makes a draught-proof house, and the_ cost of upkeep is practicallynil, while 'insurance rates are 25 per cent., lower than on wooden buildings. Several fine residences have recently been erected in Kouka in Palmerston North, and they are fine advertisements for .this material. ' Those visiting the Show are specially invited to call at the firm's' stand, where all information respecting the uses and price of Kouka will be gladly given. Messrs. Durward and Davidson are also showing samples of seeds —a fine little exhibit which will, interest farmers. . The firm make a strong" point of , reliability in seeds, only the best procurable being stocked. Although this firm's business was established only of comparatively recent date, rapid strides have been made, and if Durward and Davidson continue to conduct it on the present ' lines, the not very distant future will see theirs an extensive trade with farmers throughout the North Island. An excellent display of seed potatoes of several entirely new varieties is to be seen at their stand, and a cordial welcome to you and everyone is given to call and inspect all lines shown.
