EXTRAVAGANT ARTICLES IN GERMAN PRESS
vi n r- ■* , LONDON, 30th November. _ All the European capitals are pre-occupied with the Balkan tanUe and their anxiety is intensified by Uiu publication of the Greek ren v t tho Fn teute, which declares that Greece will n,,intain her atHtX Sf benevoleni neutrality so long as her sovereign rights are not infringed, and no restrictions of a military character are imposed upon her. The note contends that with Salomka ami itsrailways ,1, the hands of the Allies, the Greek forces have been deprived of their only provisioning ba?e. The Germans newspapers^arepublishing extravagant articles showing the attitude ol the pro-German Greeks. One leading Athenian politician, in an '•interview, states that lung Constantino and General Dusmanis consider that Italy is even more dangerous than Bulgaria, and that Italy wants Epirus. It would bo better for lurkey to hold Constantinople than Russia If the Franco-British troops are driven back they should certainly be interned. There would bs plenty of hishly-jjlaced personages in their army capable of
being usdc, as hostages, and if the Allies should bombard our coasts. Greece can shoot so many British and French officers, and execute a certain' number ot soldiers tor every Greek ship sunk. Enough Britishers can be captured to save Greece from bombardment." SOCIALISTS WBLL NOT TAKE PART !W ELECTIONS. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received December 2, 3.30 a.m.) ™ „ , -. ~. LONDON.
