NATIONAL RESERVE

There was an excellent attendance of the Wellington South section of the National Reserve at "Wellington College .on the sth instant. -Musketry drill was the order for the evening's work. Next Tuesday the c&mpany will be having the march through town, which was postponed from a fortnight ago. Tho Ber-hampore-Island Bay section has accepted an invitation to join in this route march, and the two companies hope to make a really respectable showing. The Wellington South section is making very complete arrangements to train all its men in shooting, for, besides having the use of the ranges at Wellington College, it has taken over tbe miniature range at the old Newtown Hotel, so that members will be able to practise every night. Shooting matches are now being arranged with various sections of the Reserve. Farewells were said and cheers given for Lance-CJprporal Forbes, who leaves for the front on Saturday, and for Sergeant Hamerton and Privates Clark, Caterer, and Shennan, who_are just going into camp. Quite a number of men have enlisted for the front ' from this section of the Reserve, which is wanting more recruits. Forms and all particulars may be obtained from Mr. J. E. A. Perry,. Newtown Library.
