PARLIAMENT
TO RESUME TO-MORROW THE BUDGET. Parliament meets to-morrow evening, at 7.30 o'clock, and will proceed with local Bills. The Budget, which Sift Joseph Ward has under preparation) will be brought down next weekj the exact date has not yet been fixed, The whole of the Coalition Ministry will occupy the Treasury benches. ( It is understood Sir Joseph Ward will sit with the Prime Minister, and that the mem» bers of the late Cabinet will, with the necessary changes consequent upon theHon. R. 11, Rhodes's retirement, occupy the places they had before. The question of precedence among the National Ministry is not exercising the political mind to any obvious extent. On the opposite 6ide of the House Mr. T. M. Wilford will occupy Sir Joseph Ward's old seat; Mr. Poland, Mr. G. W. Russell's j Mr. G. Witty, Mr. A. M. Myers's ; and Mr. H. fill, Mr. J. Hanan's. But there is no suggestion yet that there is any arrangement among them to lead a body of solid and determined op^osi-. tion. It is not, indeed, expected ' that this spirit will be abroad in the House, unless it develops as time goes on. As far as Labour is concerned there is sotna indication that the littlo party will not be quite as unanimous h itself as might be expected. The Hon. James Allen arrives in Wellington from the South to-morrow morn* ling.
