APPALLING DESTITUTION IN SERVIA

A MILLION HOMELESS AND FOODLESS , IN WORSE PLIGHT THAN THE BELGIANS (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received February 2, 8 a.m.) LONDON, Ist February. Harrowing stories are told of the appalling destitution in Servia. A million are homeless and foodless, and in worse plight than the Belgians, because they have no neighbours to succour them. It is pitiable to see them, grouped in hundreds, hopeless and despairing, weak from waiit of food, shattered by privations. On all sides are heard the moans of thousands upon thousands of suffering children.
