FURTHER REASONS GIVEN. SYDNEY, 27th JanuaTy. The enquiry as to the causes of the increased price of meat was continued. Evidence was given on behalf of the pastoralists. and it was maintained that | the increase was largely due to the absorption of pastoral lands for dairying purposes ; the increased percentage of animals suffering from tuberculosis; war demands.; the cost of running stations, which was now 40 per cent, above that of ten years ago, and to the fact that the Australian 'Meat Company was financed from the United States. i f
