An unusual case cam© before Mr, D. G. A. The dates of the offences were 6th Januuary, 14th January, and 20th January (two charges). Mr. T. Young appeared for the informant and Mr. G. H. Fell for the defendant. Mr. Fell entered a plea of guilty, and said that Mrs. Rudd would give an undertaking that she would write no more letter* of the nature complained of. He asked that the matter be proceeded with no further. Mr. Young handed the letters to his Worship, who pointed . out that defendant was liable to a fine of £100. "The letters are absolutely nothing but filth," commented Bis Worship, "and I will accept counsel's plea that the woman has a kink in her mind." Defendant was fined £5 and costs (£8 18s in all) on one information, and the other three charges were withdrawn. Hia Worship warned the woman that she must not repeat the offence. Mr. C. A.
