MAGISTRATES COURT
The business at the Magistrate's Court to-day was conducted by Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. Only one first-offending inebriate came before his Worship. He was convicted and discharged. John Jenkins, a seaman, who was found drunk on Queen's Wharf last night, was convicted and discharged on a charge of insobriety, while on a charge of using obscene language to the constable who arrested him he was fined £3, in default one month's imprisonment. Mary Louisa Scott, charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, was remanded until Ist February. Charged with being idle and disorderly, Ethel Susan Knapp and Alice Margaret Knapp, two young girls, were remanded until Monday to enable their parents to appear in Court. James Henry Evans, who was alleged to have worn the King's uniform without being entitled to do so, was handed over to the military authorities to be dealt with.
