ENQUIRY REGARDING A FIRE
(Hr TBLEGRAPH— PKESS ASSOCIATION.) . . NAPIER, This Day. A Magisterial enquiry, lasting two days, into the circumstances attending the destruction by fire of a. fancy goods and soft drinks shops run by Richard Ridsdale has concluded. "The Magistrate's verdict was to the effect that there was no evidenco from which it could be reasonably inferred that either Mrs. or Miss Ridsdale intentionally caused the fire ; that the insurance on the stock and fittings (£850) greatly exceeded the value at the time of tho lire ; and that the stock and (ittiugs, insured live years previously, had never been reinspected or revalued on behalf of the insurance company.
Messrs. E. Johnston and Co. will hold a sale of household furniture and effects and oak sideboard, on the premises, No. 1, George-street, Thorndon, to-morrow, commencing at 11 o'clock. At 2 o'clock they will hold a sale of household furniture and effects at the residence, Rongo-tea-terrace, Kilbirnie. Messrs. Blake and Co. will sell tomorrow, at their mart, 53, Cuba-street, the contents of two houses of furniture. The sale commences at 2 o'clock. Mr. D. Stewart, of Australia, will, in connection with the Workers' Educational Association, lecture to-night at 8 o'clock, at tho Trades Hull, Cubft-Atreet, and to-morrow night »t Feton*. {
