INTERCLUB CONTESTS BROUGHAM HILL v. WELLINGTON. On Saturday senior men's teams from Brougham Hill and Wellington met on the Brougham Hill courts. Some excellent contest's were witnessed, but in the end the home team won by four rubbers to two. Results, with Brougham Hill players mentioned first: — Singles.—Reeves lost to Brown, 1-6, 1-6. Butcher defeated Jeffery, 6-5, 6-5. H. V. Howe defeated Grant, 6-5, 6-3. J. A. B. Howe defeated Henley, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. , Doubles.— rßeoves and Butcher lc^t to Brown and Jeffery, 6-2,2-6,6-5,5-6. J. A. B. and H. V. Howe defeated Grant and Henley, 6-4, 6-2. AT NEWTOWN. The Brougham Hill senior ladies' team defeated the Newtown ladies on the latter's courts by four rubbers to two. The different games resulted as follow, the Brougham Hill players being mentioned first: — Singles. —Miss Davis lost to Miss Robinson, 5-6, 1-6. Mrs. Goldie defeated Mis. Bell, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Mrs. W. E. Howe defeated Misa Clark, 6-2, 6-2. Miss Morgan defeated Miss Dempsey, 6-2, 6-3. Doubles. —Miss Davis and Mrs. Goldie lost to Miss Robinson and Mrs. Bell, 5-6, 4-6. Mrs. W. E. Howe and Miss Morgan defeated Misses Clark and Dempsey, 6-0, 6-3. A MATCH AT LYALL BAY The Brougham Hill Club gained a. third victory when the ladies' •third-class team defeated Lyall Bay by five rubbers to one.
