YACHTSMEN FOR HARBOUR CONTROL
Folloiwing is the text 1 of a motion passed by members of the Te Ruru Yacht Club and forwarded to the Defence Minister: "In view of the present crisis that has arisen imperilling the safety of the Empire, we offer to form a corps of competent yachtsmen and boatmen to serve as a harbour patrol or in any similar capacity in the vicinity of Wellington that may be required. Although not members of the Territorial Forces, we feel that any ability that we may possess in the handling of boats shpuld be placed at the disposal of the Government."
