ALLURED CABLE ROUTE
«c» WESTERN UNION COMPANY'S OFFER. FURTHER PARTICULARS. {By Tclcgtaph.— Press Association,— Copyright.) LONDON, 26th June. With regard to the statement made by Mr. Goddard, a representative of tho Western Union Telegraph Company, before the Dominions Trade Commissioners, that his company was willing to lease one of its lines for an All-Red route on terms mutually satisfactory, it appears that the Commission, unclerstauVing that the British Government refused to lay down an Atlantic cable, approached the Western Union Company. The latter offeied to lease a line from England to Montreal, where it would join tho Pacific Company's land line. The company is willing to consider giving the use of another of its lines in the event of a breakdown. It is understood that ll>e Dominions Commission, after consulting the Canadian Government next month, intends to recommend acceptance, of the Western Union Company's offer.
