Insurance adjusters estimate tho loss by the fire at Salem at ten to twclvo million dollars, which its covered by hisurancc. Measures have bepn taken for tho relief of tho homeless of tho poorer classes, who are mostly foreigners. They have been provided with tents. Over 3500 are directly dependent upon the Relief Committee, while 4500 waited in the bread lines and received food, wliich is flowing in.
